American Activists and Reformers

An activist is a person who supports or opposes one side of an argument; usually a social or political issue. Protests and demonstrations are ways activists appeal to the public as a whole.

A reformer is a person who wishes to change a social system so as to improve it. For example, Susan B. Anthony was one of the founders of the Womens Rights Movement.
