Water treatment describes a process used to make water re-usable or more acceptable for use. For example, water purification is the removal of contaminants, such as bacteria, algae, viruses, and fungi from untreated water to produce drinking water. Sewage or wastewater treatment is the process that removes contaminants from to produce a liquid safe enough to dispose of in the natural environment.
