- All reptiles are cool-blooded animals. This means their body temperature is similar to that of their environment.
- Some reptiles, such as iguanas, have legs. Others do not.
- All reptiles have dry skin covered with scales or rough plates.
- Reptiles either lay eggs with hard shells, or the young hatch from soft-shelled eggs held inside the parent's mouth.
