Fish

Fish are animals that live in water and breathe using gills. There are more than 29,000 species of fish divided into three groups:
  • Jawless fish - about 75 species (e.g., hagfish and lampreys)
  • Cartilaginous fish - about 800 species (e.g., sharks, skates and rays)
  • Bony fish - more than 28,000 species (e.g., tuna, salmon and goldfish)
