Ice Climbing and Hiking

Tourists visiting New Zealand have a choice of many different activities. Two of these are ice climbing and hiking on the Franz Josef Glacier in the South Island. The people taking part wear the correct protective gear, which includes boots and crampons. Those climbing the ice also wear helmets, carry ice axes, and are anchored to safety ropes.
