Fog

Fog forms near the ground when water vapor condenses into tiny liquid water droplets that remain suspended in the air. It is accurate to describe fog as a cloud near the ground. Fog is usually associated with fair and calm weather.

There are different kinds of fog. For example:

• Precipitation fog
• Ground fog
• Sea smoke, or steam fog
• Valley fog
